California Reckless Driving and Traffic Violations Lawyer
Reckless Driving - Racing - Drag Racing - Speed Contests
It happens every day on a California highway. Someone drives up beside you, you notice them out of the corner of your eye, and they speed up. Then you speed up. Then they speed up a bit more.
Without really noticing, you're moving in and out of lanes of traffic. You're not really racing them-you don't even know them!-but when the police officer pulls you over, he pulls out his ticket book and he's got a lot of options.
- He could ticket you for "engaging in a speed contest"
- He could write you up for "excessive lane changes"
- Or maybe you were going over 70, over 80, over 100
- Or he could write you for all three and call it reckless driving
Reckless driving is any three vehicle violations dealing with safety that are committed simultaneously or any one driving violation that is grievous.
That's a big deal and you could lose your driver's license. Don't lose your license if you don't have to. Talk to a lawyer. Call 888.529.5255 for prompt legal help.

Speeding Tickets and Driving Violations
I defend drivers ticketed for any kind of traffic or speeding violation, including:
- Exhibition of speed: this is a misdemeanor vehicle code violation that can include revving your engine, squealing your tires, or any behavior a police officer could feel was "unsafe"
- Speed contest: a speed activity against another vehicle, a mechanical device (such as a stopwatch), or an animal (for example, a horse). People often go out into uninhabited areas and think they can safely test the speed of their vehicles in the wide-open spaces but they face potential jail time and mandatory license suspension or probation and community service if convicted.
- Reckless driving is a very vague misdemeanor that a police officer could charge you with if he or she thinks your behavior showed wanton disregard for safety, such as excessive lane changing
- Driving over the speed limit, and driving 25 or more in a school zone
Fighting the Ticket: If I think I can get the ticket dismissed, I'll work for that. If the judge can decide what fine to impose, I'll negotiate to get your fine reduced. I can also negotiate for a violation that has a lower fine. But I'm always going to do what it takes to prevent you from having your license suspended.
